Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the DriveProfit mobile application ("DriveProfit", "the app", "we", "our") handles your information. DriveProfit is published by [DEVELOPER / COMPANY NAME] ("the developer").
1. Data we collect
None. DriveProfit has no user accounts, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs, and no backend server. The app works fully offline. We — the developer — have no ability to see, access, receive, or recover anything you do in the app.
2. Data stored on your device
To do its job, DriveProfit stores the following locally on your device only, in the app's private storage:
- Trip records you enter: platform (e.g. Uber, DoorDash), earnings, tips, distance, duration, date/time, and optional notes.
- Expense records you enter: category, amount, description, date, and recurring-expense settings.
- Settings you choose: language, currency, distance units, fuel efficiency, local gas price, wear-and-tear rate, and weekly earnings goal.
- Subscription status: a locally cached yes/no flag indicating whether Google Play reports an active DriveProfit Pro subscription, so Pro features keep working offline.
This data never leaves your device unless you export it (see Section 5).
3. Location data
If you enable the optional GPS mileage tracking feature, the app uses your device's location while a trip is being tracked, with a visible persistent notification, to calculate the distance you drive.
- Location is processed on your device only, in real time, to add up mileage.
- Individual location points and routes are not stored — only the resulting total distance of the trip is saved to your local trip record.
- Location data is never transmitted to the developer or any third party.
- Tracking runs only when you switch it on and stops when you switch it off (or tap "Stop tracking" in the notification). The app never tracks location in the background without the visible notification.
- You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in Android settings; the app remains fully usable with manual distance entry.
4. Payments and Google Play Billing
Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. The developer never receives or stores your name, email address, payment card details, or billing address. Google shares only an anonymized purchase token with the app so it can unlock Pro features. Google's handling of your payment information is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Exports and backups you create
Two features let you copy your data out of the app, entirely under your control:
- Tax CSV export saves a spreadsheet of your trips and expenses to your device's Downloads folder.
- Backup to file saves all app data as a single JSON file to a location you choose.
Once created, these files are ordinary files on your device (or wherever you move them). You are responsible for them — if you email a backup to yourself or upload it to a cloud drive, that transfer happens outside the app and is governed by that service's privacy policy, not this one.
6. Data retention and deletion
- All data lives on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual trips and expenses in the app at any time.
- Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all app data from your device (except export/backup files you created, which you can delete yourself).
- Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot delete it for you — and equally, we cannot recover it for you. Use the backup feature before switching or resetting phones.

8. Children
DriveProfit is a work tool for gig-economy drivers and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children — indeed, we collect no information from anyone.
9. Security
Your data is protected by Android's application sandbox, which prevents other apps from reading DriveProfit's private storage. Backup files you export are unencrypted JSON — store them somewhere you trust.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change (for example, if a future version adds an online feature), this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised before that version is released. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's update notes.
